I had the pleasure of being part of a small group of female entrepreneurs invited to the House of Lords for afternoon tea with Baroness Uddin (pictured with me below). Tea was a delightful affair as the other pictures show and with the mini scones directly in front of me there was no ignoring their call! During tea we were introduced to Baroness Scotland who had stopped by to say hello.
Tea was followed by the more serious business of a round table discussion in one of the lovely committee rooms. The keynote address by Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba (Deputy Secretary-General of the Commonwealth and whom I had sat opposite during tea) was particularly stimulating. The subsequent discussion was informative and thought-provoking. It was also lovely to network with some rather inspirational ladies doing amazing things in their different spheres of influence. All in all I had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed myself.
