Edition #58 (Year 2): Before You Push Harder, Read This
From the Made for More Memo Archive
This edition was originally shared with subscribers on 4 September 2026 as part of a weekly journey to help ambitious women elevate their life, leadership, business and beyond.
Sometimes the reason you’re not moving forward isn’t that you need to try harder.
You may simply need to get clearer.
This week, I’ve been exploring three questions that can change the way you approach your next level - especially when you’re accomplished, capable and yet find yourself procrastinating, second-guessing or doing too much.
THE MINDSET RESET | Clarity Creates Momentum.
When you keep avoiding something you know matters, it’s easy to make it a character issue:
“I’m not disciplined enough.”
“I need more motivation.”
“Why can’t I just get on with it?”Sometimes procrastination is information. You may not be clear on what you actually want, why it matters, or whether it still belongs in this season of your life.
Before demanding more from yourself, ask: What am I not yet clear about?
Clarity can make the action you’ve been resisting feel surprisingly easier.
THE CONFIDENCE CATALYST | Make Sure Your Ambition Belongs To You.
“I should be more visible.”
“I should be further ahead.”
“I should be doing more.”The trouble with “should” is that it can sound like ambition while quietly pulling you away from what you genuinely want. When you’re pursuing goals because they look impressive, seem expected or are what everyone else is doing, resistance is understandable.
So ask yourself: Do I actually want this?
Not what would look good or what you think you should want.
What do you want?
That isn’t lowering your ambition. It’s making your ambition more intentional.
THE STRATEGY SHIFT | Direction Before Acceleration.
Being busy can feel reassuring.
The full calendar.
The endless list.
The next course.
The next opportunity.
Movement however doesn’t automatically mean progress. Before asking, “How can I do this faster?” Ask: “Is this actually where I want to go?”
Once your direction is clear, strategy becomes simpler. You can decide what deserves your attention, what needs to stop, where to focus your visibility and which opportunities are actually worth pursuing.
Sometimes the most strategic move is not to accelerate, but to pause long enough to choose your direction.
A Bonus Insight - For You
Here’s something I want you to reflect on this weekend:
Clarity, confidence and strategy are more connected than they appear.
When you’re unclear, you hesitate.
When you’re disconnected from what you truly want, confidence can erode.
And when you’re trying to build from that place, even a good strategy can feel exhausting.
But when you become clear about what you want and trust yourself enough to pursue it, your decisions become cleaner.
You stop asking, “What should I do?” and start asking: “What makes sense for the woman I’m becoming?”
That is a very different question.
Mini Coaching Exercise
Take 10 quiet minutes this weekend and complete these three sentences:
I know I want…
I’ve been telling myself I should…
The next strategic move that feels right for me is…
Don’t overthink your answers. Pay attention to what feels lighter, clearer and more aligned.
You may find that the answer isn’t another thing to add but something you’re finally ready to stop carrying.
If this is the kind of inner clarity and intentional strategy you’re ready to develop more deeply, you’re welcome to explore how I support women to elevate their life, leadership, business and beyond through my Made for More programme.
