Edition #48: The Real Cost of Growth (And Why It's Worth It)
From the Made for More Memo Archive
This edition was originally shared with subscribers on 26 June 2026 as part of a weekly journey to help ambitious women elevate their life, leadership, business and beyond.
As I reflected on this week's conversations, client stories and teaching experiences, one theme stood out:
Growth rarely begins with a change in circumstances. More often, it begins with a change within us.
Here's a quick recap of my key insights.
THE MINDSET RESET | Seeing Possibility Before Proof
One of the things I find most rewarding about guest lecturing on entrepreneurship is watching people begin to think differently about what's possible.
Recently, an academic who observed my entrepreneurship lecture shared:"Natural and engaging, with students willing to interact. I thoroughly enjoyed your lecture."What was even more encouraging was the student feedback afterwards.
Whether you're building a business, leading a team, or pursuing a new opportunity, success often begins when your perspective changes. Before results appear, there is usually a moment when you choose to believe something bigger is possible.
That mindset shift can change everything.
THE CONFIDENCE CATALYST | When Your Values Are Tested
Many people associate confidence with visibility, certainty, or having all the answers.
Over the years, I've come to realise that some of the most powerful expressions of confidence happen quietly. Confidence is
Having the difficult conversation.
Setting the boundary.
Speaking up when something doesn't sit right.
Making the decision you know you need to make.
The question isn't always, "What will this cost me?" Sometimes the better question is: "What will it cost me if I don't?"
THE STRATEGY SHIFT | The Transformation That Changes Everything
This week, I reflected on the story of a client who arrived at a point where she felt exhausted, uncertain and close to giving up.
Looking back, her reflection was simple but powerful:
"What did change was me."
Many women spend years searching for the perfect strategy when the breakthrough they need is greater clarity, confidence, and self-trust.
When your thinking changes, your decisions improve. When your decisions improve, momentum follows. And often, the greatest transformation isn't what happens around you.
It's what happens within you.
Bonus Insight
One thing I don't think we talk about enough is that growth can sometimes feel uncomfortable before it feels empowering. Growth often feels like losing something first.
You may lose old habits, outgrow limiting beliefs or stop seeking approval from people whose opinions once shaped your decisions.
For a season, that can feel unsettling.
But what you're actually doing is creating space for the person you're becoming.
Don't mistake discomfort for failure - very often, it's evidence that you're expanding.
I'd Love Your Perspective
