Conference on Health

CCLI had the pleasure of speaking at a health conference organised by three of my clients: the Commonweallth Countries League in partnership with the British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK. Hosted by the Trinidad & Tobago High Commission, the aim of the conference was to create awareness on specific health concerns affecting people from Commonwealth countries.

My presentation was on eating well for health and wellbeing and I injected some humour based on the current horse meat scandal. Incidentally, during the Q & A session afterwards, there was a question about whether the public could trust the food industry in light of recent events. Trust is rather fragile and not easily restored which is why it should not be broken in the first instance. I do think the public can trust the food industry but it may take time for trust to be rebuilt.

Q & A session over, I was whisked away for lunch and had the pleasure of enjoying the company of fellow conference speakers, various Commonwealth high commissioners and their spouses, as well as other dignitaries. It was a lovely time networking and I really enjoyed connecting with my audience earlier.
